1. The Andalusian aquaculture sector has the necessary potential to progressively develop and improve its positioning compared to other autonomous regions, European countries and third countries.

2. In order to improve technology in the sector, research groups specialised in each discipline related to aquaculture should be involved in the process.

3. It is essential to link the needs of companies in the sector to the work developed by research groups.

4. Know-how and technology transfer should be taken into account and included in the projects and experiences carried out concerning aquaculture RD&I.

5. The priority lines of work in aquaculture RD&I are generally defined by the competent administrations that finance most of the actions and programmes focused on competitive innovation. It is essential to involve all the agents in the sector when defining the strategic lines to be promoted in order to develop work that focuses on the real needs of aquaculture companies.

6. According to the results obtained, work should be focused on increasing the value and diversification of the sector, giving added value to products, as well as promoting actions focused on making aquaculture a sustainable activity.
